I have here two very gorgeous looking alternatives to Daniel Wellington watches (ugh). The founder (Monsieur Guillaume Laidet) is actually a frenchman who has worked in the Swiss watch industry for some years and he decided to come out to create William L. 1985 (his name and birth year). A lot of fashion watches these days cost a lot and they tend to adopt very generic designs, unlike William L 1985.
As a watch enthusiast, the design somewhat spoke to me because it is clear that Guillaume had put more thought into designing the dial and proportions. I actually purchased my first William L 1985 (the chrono in black) some years back and they were launching their brand and this one so happened to be a limited edition of 100 pieces around the world.
2 years ago I then entered into a photography contest and won the second rose gold calendar model. My winning entry is the last photo in this listing.
Unfortunately I've grown out of these two and I've moved on to other brands. But if you're looking for to not spend 700+ on a DW (which is ludicrous btw), but would love to have a taste of a very made fashion watch. Look no further.
Unfortunately the travel case that it comes in is defective (the elastic bands hardened). But you could still technically give it a quick fix with some super glue. There's only one case though because I won the second rose gold one as part of the photography contest so whoever buys the first watch would get it.
RM450 for each (definitely worth every single penny for it I tell you), open to slight negotiations :)
Both are around 42mm, 20mm lug width.
Both are used, but the rose gold's condition is 9.5/10, black chronograph is 8.5/10.
Let me know if you want more pics / info!
